Its big challenge: Crossing the Pyrenees from west to east through the Aragonese territory, Lleida, France, Andorra and Girona on sleds pulled by dogs or skis.
• Pirena are 15 days together in the snow with the goal of crossing
from west to east our most beloved mountain range: the Pyrenees.
• Pirena is life, struggle and effort between dogs and humans
looking for a common goal.
• We went through the places and the most beautiful scenery in the Pyrenees
Aragonese, Catalan, French and Andorra.
• We are moved by love for animals, respect for nature and
promotion of the Pyrenees.
• In Spain, Pirena is the activity with the greatest snow
nationally and internationally.
• Each year, thousands of people come to witness a live stage
Pirena. And millions of people watch on television.
• Pirena is the great event of world mushing in southern Europe, and
the most demanding test of sporting calendar.
• Rate for the World Cup of the International Sports Federation
sled dogs (IFSS), whose other tests are held in places
Alaska Natives, Canada and Colorado. Also scored for the Cup
ESDRA Europe.
• It represents a major organizational effort, with more than 120 people
organization and a budget of over one million euros.
• Pirena reaches this year its 20th edition. Are twenty years
promoting mushing and the Pyrenees in the world.
• We have the support of institutions such as the Govern d'Andorra,
Generalitat de Catalunya, the Government of Aragon, the department
Ariège, the Diputación de Huesca, Lleida Provincial Council and local councils
Barcelona, Zaragoza and Madrid.
